Vanuatu 2017 Pacific Games

28 September 2017

In December this year, Vanuatu is set to come alive with the launch of the 2017 Pacific Mini Games.

From the 4th – 15th December, athletes from all over the Pacific will descend on Port Vila to compete in their various sporting disciplines and as a country, we couldn’t be more excited.

As one of the VAN2017 host accommodation facilities, Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu promises to be bustling with activity as games officials and media go about their work, ensuring the event runs seamlessly and the world hears about the amazing achievements of our Pacific athletes. We look forward to supporting them in any and all capacity during their stay with us.

Significant investment has been made in wonderful new sporting facilities and arena’s where the various competitions will be held. Vanuatu is taking such pride in ensuring we make a fabulous and long-lasting positive impression on our Pacific family.

This is the second time Vanuatu has hosted the Pacific Games, the first being in 1993. This time, an additional 8 nations will attend the games, with a total of 24 nations and territories.

The theme of VAN2017 is ‘Ignite the Spirit Within’ sending a powerful message to everyone involved. The government and organisers alike are encouraging the Vanuatu community, athletes and businesses to use the Pacific Games as a catalyst for positive change and let it be the time Vanuatu makes its mark in the Pacific.
