"My Mum and I visited the Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu in May last year and were delighted to celebrate Mother’s Day together. Having not travelled overseas before, my Mum was a little nervous about the trip. She soon realised that staying at the Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu meant she had nothing to worry about. From the moment we arrived, the staff at the resort took care of our every need and went out of their way to ensure we had a truly memorable holiday.
We relished the privacy and tranquillity of the Overwater Villas, where we began each day by waking to the peaceful sound of the waves and the locals chattering away out on their small canoes. We soon discovered that for a small additional fee, our breakfast (which was included in our package) could be delivered to us by the resorts Chief in his own canoe as we sat in the sun on our balcony.
Our days were then spent relaxing by the pool – be it swimming, reading while relaxing on the sun lounges or sipping cocktails and fresh coconuts. We often went for an afternoon walk to admire the pristine grounds of the resort; the lush tropical gardens and manicured golf course.
The resort provided a range of activities but as we were there to relax and unwind, we chose to go at a slower pace and indulge in the morning yoga classes and therapeutic massages at the Namele Day Spa. The resort staff also kindly arranged a day trip for us to go snorkeling. Every detail was thought of, meaning we simply had to arrive in the lobby ready to explore the island.
The highlight of our holiday was the Mother’s Day high tea prepared by the chef. It was the epitome of luxury, as we enjoyed champagne while overlooking the water from the beachside bungalow, and snacked on assorted sandwiches and sweets. The chocolate brownie with raspberries was delectable!
The beautiful smiles of the Vanuatu people will forever stay in our hearts."
